Milestones in the company's history


1964
The company Helmut Eissmann – Technische Entwicklung und Vertrieb was founded by Helmut Eissmann and his sons Jürgen and Volkhard in Seeburg near Bad Urach in the German State of Baden-Württemberg.

1968
The company Jürgen und Volkhard Eissmann GbR, Entwicklung und Vertrieb von Autozubehör was founded by Jürgen and Volkhard Eissmann.

1970

The companies were expanded by taking on employees and extending the premises.

1978

Start of collaboration with Audi: first series order for leather gear knobs.

1985
Eissmann GmbH
was formed by merging the two previously existing firms Helmut Eissmann – Technische Entwicklung und Vertrieb and Jürgen und Volkhard Eissmann GbR.

1989

First order for covering a number of components for one vehicle production series
(Audi Urquattro) in leather.

1996
Move to Bad Urach (the present Group headquarters).

1997
Production plant founded in Hungary.

1998

Production plant founded in the Czech Republic.

1999
Production plant founded in South Africa.

2000
Production plant founded in Münsingen, Germany.

2001

Production plant founded in Slovakia.

2004
Production plant founded in Mexico.

2004
Production plant founded in the USA.

2006
Eissmann Individual founded in Bad Urach, Germany.

2010
Joint Ventures Dagro Eissmann GmbH founded in Gera, Germany and Gearchief Eissmann Changchun, China.

2013
Joint Ventures Gearchief Eissmann founded in Shanghai, China

2014
Founding of the production plant in Port Huron, Michigan, USA.

2015
Joint Ventures Gearchief Eissmann in Peking, China
