Tobias Götz is our expert in high-quality haptics and perfect surfaces. He is responsible for development in the seat trim segment. His job requires not only the ability to see the big picture, but also a sense of empathy. Because he has to reconcile a whole range of different requirements, ideas, wishes, arguments and unavoidable technical realities.

„Most customers have already designed the back panel.When we take over responsibility for the development process, we not only have to keep our eye on the attractive design, but also on the installation space, the connected components and the shape of the joints, among other things. In most cases, we can put the designer’s ideas into practice exactly as they stand. But if modifications are needed, for example additional seams, we incorporate them carefully and unobtrusively. Our joint objective is to produce creative solutions that are a positive surprise for our customers. We want to make a good seat even better.”

This statement made by Professor Peter Vink from the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at the Technical University of Delft accurately expresses the feelings of Tobias Götz and his development team.

Tobias also feels proud when he strolls through the exhibition center during the Frankfurt Motor Show and sits in cars that are fitted with “his” components. The entire development process flashes before his eyes like a time-lapse sequence. All the work that was involved. The hours, weeks and months that he and his team invested in the development process. “That feels good!” he thinks to himself.
