Combined course Bachelor of Engineering (m/f) – Course in communications and software engineering and vocational training as an IT specialist


This dual course in the communications and software engineering field is a combination of a vocational course for IT specialists and a bachelor course at university. The practical vocational training is delivered within the company, and the theory modules are taught at Theodor-Heuss-Berufsschule in Reutlingen and at the university in Albstadt-Sigmaringen.

The practical basis provided in-house goes hand-in-hand with the theoretical content taught at the university. This maximizes learning success because the specialist theoretical knowledge can subsequently be put to use in practice. Up-to-date information on this course can also be found at: www.hs-albsig.de

Duration/start of training:

4 1/2 years (approx. 2 1/2 years specialist vocational training, approx. 2 years university study; commencing on 01/09)

Requirements:
General or specialized higher school leaving qualification (Abitur); applicants with an Abitur must sit an aptitude test; Good to excellent achievements at school in the subjects related to this course, interest in communications and software engineering, communication skills and ability to work in a team, capacity to work under pressure, willingness to learn

Activities:
developing software and hardware components; software development and planning, commissioning and maintenance; design, operation and management of information and communication systems; training and induction of users

Subsequent work areas:
IT department (software development, database or network administration, systems analysis)
